Jyri Straechav Take Hardcore, add some Sonic Youth and a little bit of Nirvana's sense of style with minor samples and synths. Now put it all together and add enough groove to get an ocean liner to rock so badly it'll sink, now you got Harkonen. It's too bad the group exists no more, but it sure as hell did everything right on this album. If you like Rock or Hardcore give this a shot, it has enough groove to rock your socks off and just enough aggressiveness to appeal Metal fans as well. Favorite track: Settle Here.

about

While their previous album and EPs were sufficiently raging platters of brainy metal-tinged hardcore, Shake Harder Boy shed their more noisy and technical predilections for heavy-handed punches of quarter-note power chords. It was as if they had tired of the more popular noisy hardcore acts of the times and gone on a heavy diet of Karp’s Self Titled and Melvins’ The Maggot. - Brian Cook
